Great Attractor

It’s my birthday today, Bloggers.

And as always, in lieu of gifts, I would like you all to listen to “I Dig A Pony” by the Beatles, and “Somebody Up There Likes Me” by David Bowie, and have a glass of whiskey if you can manage it.  Further instructions to follow, but for now take it easy.  Save up your strength.  I’ll be lost for a few days;  ’til I come back you may roam.

Regards,

Plok

    Happiest of Birthdays, Plok!

I wish I were around here more often, but alas, I’ve been adrift in my own dimension fighting my own demons.

Still, your request SHALL be honored – Beatles and booze all around!

Belated birthday wishes, and your instructions shall be followed to the utmost of my abilities!

Ooh, I’m a day late. Consequently, I didn’t catch your post in time to listen to the musical selections requested, although as it happens I DID have a glass of whiskey last night.

This is not, however, a tremendous coincidence, if you will catch my meaning.

No less significant, though! Best birthday wishes from me to ye.

Happy birthday! I hope your wanderings take you where you want to go, especially if you didn’t know you wanted to be there.

I will vote on the Space Meme very soon, this I do swear.

My parents had a tape of random songs, mostly album tracks, including selections from Jimi Hendrix’s Band of Gypsies album, and “Dig a Pony” was one of them. As the tape was unlabeled beyond “Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder,” etc., I had no idea what the song was called. I listened to it over and over, enthralled by the rolling riff and shouted chorus. One of the great musical surprises of my life was buying a Let It Be cd and hearing the song again totally out of the blue.

I’ll put on those songs as soon as I get home.

Belated Happy Birthday (I wasn’t online the last two days).

Happy Birthday! And may the Kirby Krackles of your Kosmic Kake Kandles not singe your eyebrows!

Hope your birthday was FABULOUS, Pillock! :-)

    Hadn’t heard those songs before—have now—thanks!

Oh, and happy birthday! Belated, but I haven’t got into the whisky yet.

    Awaiting further instructions.

Go ahead and put some soda in it, David.

Thanks, all! I’m still out of town, and struggling deeply with other people’s ideas of “normal” as expressed in their computer set-ups. For example, this computer just wanted me to be aware that the word “computer” may not be a word.

What key do I press to agree with it?

Back soon! Thanks for the well-wishes! Things are going swell, see you soon.

Oh no, I forgot David is Whiskey Guy…!

All the whiskey guys around Vancouver would rather kill a derelict that put soda in whiskey. Mind you there are a lot of things they’d rather kill a derelict than do, one senses…

Nevertheless, though David’s surely not of that stripe…still you don’t have to put soda in it if you don’t want to, David.

(Computer desperate to know what “in it if” means…)

…And, whooo, I’m back, safely landed. Hmm, some time before “Midsomer Murders” comes on…think I’ll just kick back with this copy of “Super-Heroes Vs. Super-Gorillas”…

Whisky is only ever single malt and neat! But I have been known to mix it with orange juice. :-)

    Happy belated b-day!

No whiskey around, but I’ll get right on the Beatles & Bowie!
