nice review - I do think that there is a very good use of "camera" pov in this that does put me in mind movies. I think the pacing is where the comicness shines. I love the cliffhanger episodiness aspect of this book.

well the funny thing is that, you know, one of the main criticisms of both comics and road-trip stories is that they are overly-reliant on their episodic nature...so i thought, why not put 'em together and double the fun?? maybe, if combined, they could be more than the sum of their parts...plus, i love drawing deserts and skinny people with baseball bats...and cars that look like weird animals.
hopefully you'll still like it this much when it's all said and done!
(don't tell me if you don't)(ok, fine, tell me, but don't tell anybody else!)

Well, #3 has just made me laugh, pretty hard...

More! MORE!

I'm definitely gonna come back to this in a later post...

Very glad to hear you say I "got" it -- for just a second there, while I was writing it all down, I thought "is it possible I've coloured this in with my own interests a little too much?" Because all the classic movie-style road trip bits are, you know, right there...

And then I thought "no way!" Because if it were just a leftover screenplay, there really wouldn't be much in it to like, and I'd put it down. But it's nice to have confirmation from the artist!

Man, I love comics.
